Innovations for In-Flight Systems in the RC Community
About Us
Mission Statement

This company's mission is to provide innovative and exciting components useful for the Remote Control Hobby at large.  Our aim is to identify emerging needs and interests of the RC and UAV communities and to develop innovative solutions to the engineering challenges of the future within these fields.

About the Company

Second in Command Limited Liability Corporation was established in the Fall of 2008.  This business is a family owned enterprise that brings together siblings with various engineering backgrounds.

Flying remote control airplanes has been passed down from our Father.  Since those days, when remote controls used AM transmitters and rubber bands for mechanical power, our Father practiced the hobby in the 70s and early 80s then swore to return to it once his children were grown.

Today, after being engaged in the hobby once again since the 90s, our Father has 4 grown children three of which are engineers.  With the same excitement as our first solos, my siblings and I are excited to launch a company that echoes the passion and devotion for the Hobby that our Dad has always shown us.

As our company grows, we hope to build a lasting relationship with fellow Hobbyist and the RC Community.  We hope to bring our customers satisfaction and enjoyment in our products for all hobbyist, young and old.

About our Company Name

The name Second in Command is derived from the notion that there are two pilot/operators for one vehicle.  The acronyms 2ic or 2i/c has a military background and refers to military personnel who are "second in command" in their designated post.  Furthermore, the acronym alone, 2ic, sounds like "two I see"....as in, "two pilots I see flying the airplane".

I would say the concept came to me during testing when a fellow pilot arrived at our airfield and saw myself and Dave flying one aircraft.  However, there was no buddy box cable connecting our transmitters.  Actually, we were standing some 50 feet apart shouting to each other "you have control....now, I have control....".  After landing, this fellow pilot, baffled as he was, said; " Two I see, but there is only one airplane and no cable..."  My product line now bears various military ranks as product numbers (PO, XPO, XO and CO) for good luck and the rest is history.
